Until recently, the concept of using incentive measures to promote conservation and sustainable use of natural resources without affecting the ecosystem has not been widely pursued in Ethiopia. A few initiative, however, have been introduced. Hence HORCO has firm stand in protecting the natural environment though it is important to utilize the resource safely. With this initiative, HORCO has instigated Environmental protection and safe land use programs for afforestation and training on how to establish village level nursery and plant the seedlings in different area of interventions.
